A Giveaway!, A Quilt Along

12 Days of Christmas 2023; Day 2

Did you get your first Tiny Tree made?

If you’ve not made one of my trees yet, they’re ridiculosly easy!

This short video shows just how easy it is to make the tops of all 3 sizes of my trees; Tiny, Little & Mini.

You can find all 3 sizes of templates here on my website.

Just add trunks & they’re done.

Day 2 you’ll just need to make 1 more Tiny Tree!

If you made yesterday’s tree there’s no need to print the PDF below again.

Notice the background fabric in this tree block is again the HOUSE fabric. This tree will sit to the right or left of the door too and not as part of the “2024” block.

Show us your finished blocks on my Sewing With Susan FB page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SewingWithSusan

Rhonda was first to show us her trees yesterday (yes, she made 2!) & won a free pattern of her choice!

Rhonda has chosen my A Merry Christmas to You pattern & so will receive it very soon.

– Now post your 2 Tiny Tree blocks –

for a chance to win a Suzn Quilts/Sewing With Susan pattern of your choice for free, either printed or PDF!

This time there will be a random drawing…

Just keep sewing,

Susan

12 Days of Christmas 2023; Day 1

I hope your Christmas was beautiful.

We had a very nice day with lots of cheer!

David gifted me this beautiful, somewhat rare Tan Featherweight Sewing Machine!

I’m so excited to plug it in & sew, but I have lots to do before I can do that!

If you’re like me, you’re exhausted & need a nap,

& maybe not ready for a new start, but…

As the 3 Wise Men begin their journey, these 12 Days of Christmas,

I hope that you will join me (& Emma) in making my latest little quilt,

Dresden Home.

It’s the perfect post-Christmas project with just a tiny bit of sewing each day.

Day 1 you’ll just need to make 1 Tiny Tree!

So, pull out your Tiny Tree Template Set,

or use the template provided with the instructions in the PDF below.

Notice the background fabric in this tree block is the HOUSE fabric. This tree will sit to the right or left of the door not as part of the “2024” block.

Show your us your finished blocks on my Sewing With Susan FB page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SewingWithSusan

My Life

New Patterns Have Arrived!

Lots of new patterns are now on my website here & are ready for purchase & my VERY busy month & a half of travel are now complete so I can catch my breath here for a bit!

It’s been fun designing with Renee Nanneman’s newest lines of fabric.

Her new Gingerlily is a beautiful spring garden of prints. I couldn’t resist making a couple of quilts with the line.

Cutting is made so quick, easy & accurate with my templates. It has become my favorite part of the quilting process these days I think! Try out my templates & you’ll see what I mean! You can see them all by clicking here.

Twinkling Dresdens is my first design.

The blocks are made with my Tiny & Mini Dresden petals with sashing between the quarter plate blocks.

No center circle appliqué (darn it! No Apliquick Bar use this time…) but it does make the blocks so quick to make.

Twinkling Dresdens is a generous lap (or play according to Emma) size quilt but you could adapt it to a bed size quilt easily enough.

I think Emma was saying, “gma, let’s read already!”

My next quilt with Gingerlily is Dazzling Diamonds.

Do you see trees???

I used my Tiny & Mini Tree Template Sets to make the diamonds.

It’s another quickly cut quilt because of my templates. It also sews together quickly.

Both Twinkling Dresdens & Dazzling Diamonds can be found my website by clicking here.

If you’d like to order a fabric kit, Renee has them on her Need’l Love website here.

I’ll be back with more new patterns soon!

Until then,

My Life

New Patterns for 2022!

My new patterns are all now on my website! I have 8 new patterns! With a variety of sizes & styles, you’re sure to fall in love with at least one (I hope!).

With a quick click you can see them all just by clicking here.

3 of my new quilts are made with Veranda fabric collection by Renee Nanneman of Need’l Love. It’s such a beautiful fabric collection, very classic.

Veranda Chains is the first. It uses my Tiny Dresden template #216 in simple square-in-a-square blocks.

Another Veranda fabric quilt is Power Of Love. It uses my Tiny Dresden #216, Mini Dresden #186 & also my Tiny Tree Template Set #286.

I think this would make a lovely wedding or anniversary gift, don’t you?

My third quilt using Veranda is Plumfield Petals. It uses my Tiny Dresden #216 & Tiny Tree #286 templates.

Reminiscent of an antique quilt, it’s made simple with my templates.

My next new pattern is A Few Of My Favorite Things. It also uses my Tiny Dresden #216 & Tiny Tree #286 templates.

If it looks familiar, that’s because I featured it here on my blog as my 3rd annual “12 Days of Christmas” sew along.

You may remember my new Candy Corn Sampler pattern released late in season last fall. If you’d like some encouragement in sewing this quilt, I spent the month of October doing just that. You can follow by clicking here.

It’s made with Renee’s fabrics also. It uses my Tiny Dresden #216, Mini Dresden #186 & Tiny Tree #286 templates.

Also using more of Renee’s fabrics… BOO WHO! It uses my Tiny Dresden template #216.

Fusible web appliqué makes it a quick little Halloween quilt.

My Halloween table runner is one of my favorites…

The candy corn block border strips were so fun to make! They’re made using my Tiny Tree template set #286 & the “O” is made with my Tiny Dresden template #216 if you didn’t already know.

And last, but not least, is my Fall Colors quilt. It uses A combination of Renee’s fabrics with my Tiny Tree template #286.

I hope you’ll be joining the fun & making some little Dresdens & trees with me this summer. Paper templates are included in each pattern, but the plastic templates make your cutting so much quicker & accurate.

Just Keep Sewing…
