My Life, Quilt Show

Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival 2021

I’m a sponsor &

I’ll have a pretty booth at the

2021 Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival!

You should plan to attend!

Registration is now open with lots of classes & lectures.

My lecture, Having Fun In Your Sewing Room,

is scheduled for Thursday evening at 5:00.

So, when your legs are tired,

you can sit & enjoy my tips for getting lots done in your sewing room.

Registration is now open.

There will be many beautiful quilts in the judged show

& lots of vendors.

This is Clare & me in our booth at their last show in 2019.

Our booth will be full of brand new quilts!

My photographer just finished shooting 25 new ones today!

Can’t wait to show you all my new patterns.

It’s such a nice show.

Very close, free parking & reasonably priced hotels right there.

If you live in the St. Louis area,

it’s less than a 4 hour drive straight down Hwy. 70 to KC.

Then it’s right off the interstate.

Why does it seem we look forward to something for so long,

then in a blink of an eye it’s over?

Set-up went well.

I ordered a double booth on an end,

so, lots of space to show lots of quilts.

I loved the way the lighting really showed off Tamara’s quilting!

The Meet The Teachers cocktail hour was fun

& I got photos with some friendly quilters :)

Even snagged another student or two for our Thursday workshop.

The crowd was amazing!

Many quilters were able to take advantage of planned bus trips.

That’s the way to go!

Leave the driving up to a pro & enjoy the trip with your friends.

Clare was excellent help!

I couldn’t have done it without her!

She handled the booth single-handedly during my class Thursday.

(Sorry no pics! We were too busy!)

Clare also manned the booth alone while I gave a presentation Friday.

My “Name That Quilt” Quilt-as-you-go book was a hit!

Who doesn’t need to make a baby quilt every so often?

This one is quick & easy

& the entire alphabet is included & reversed for you.

I demonstrated the assembly of

little Dresden plates more times than I can count!

FUN, FUN, FUN!

We sold out of BOO pillow kits

& one of my personal favorites;

Dresden Sundaes.

Dresden Buddies Snowman was also a sell-out

as well as the Victorian hangers that I use to hang my

Dresden Buddies series quilts.

We’ll have more hangers tomorrow.

“God’s Peace” was another sell-out.

We didn’t quite sell out of them,

but more of their hangers will also be here tomorrow.

If you ordered a pattern(s) that we ran out of,

they all shipped on Monday.

You should have them soon!

While we were away,

the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup!

The rest of the family participated in the celebratory parade Saturday.

The show was over at 5:00 Saturday

& we were on the road by 6:31!

It’s always a bit of a game

to challenge ourselves

to try & beat our best pack-up time, Lol

We made it safely home

& items that were depleted have been reordered.

You can find all of the patterns & notions on my website.

If you were wanting something that we ran short of,

if we don’t already have it,

we should have it soon!

If in doubt, send me an email

SuznQuilts@aol.com

Thanks to all of you who came to see us!

If you’d like to schedule lectures or workshops for your guild

or shop you can find a listing here on my website.

Until we meet again,

My Life, Quilt Show

Kansas City Quilt Festival 2017 Recap

We had a great show in Kansas City!

We met so many nice quilters & sold lots of patterns & templates!

Our rental was a new mini van, so our travel was very comfortable.

I’ve taken to photographing our rentals in case I need to know the license # I have it on my phone.

Our drive started off a bit rocky just 30 miles from home when we had to sit over an hour on the interstate because of an accident where a semi was perched on top of the guardrail & blocking all lanes of West bound 70 shutting it down completely…

What a great venue though when we finally got there.

The convention center is in a very nice area, with free parking!

And there are two hotels on either side of the convention center that you can walk next door to.

Very nice!

Hauling all of our “stuff” was very convenient.

We went to work quickly setting most everything up so we could relax that evening.

Clare was great help.

She was our cashier, tech support,

inventory control & dinner coordinator!

Fiorella’s Jack Stack BBQ was our favorite dinner spot.

Photo of Jack Stack Barbecue - Freight House - Kansas City, MO, United States. nice interior, fancy for BBQ

Their BBQ is delicious & the atmosphere is outstanding!

There is a location in Overland Park very near the convention center, but we’d been to this location before & wanted to eat there again because it’s so cool!

Now we’re back home & back to the grind.

Summer is in full swing here & I just noticed that today is the longest day of the year!

It makes me a bit sad knowing the days will start to get shorter, wahhhhh.

Our best seller was my new “Dresden Flags” pattern.

It contains 2 sizes of flags that just happen to have Tiny Dresden plates in the field.

Besides the notions that we have to help your quilt along,

we also have the 12″ stand by Ackfeld that you can display the smaller flag on.

See my website for all this goodness if you didn’t get one in Kansas City!

I’m needing to show you all of my new patterns.

Stay tuned!
