New Tiny Dresden Plate Patterns

Suzn+Quilts+Patterns+Tiny+Dresden+ImagesNew Tiny Dresden Plate patterns are now at the printer

and they’re available for pre-order on my website.

If you look back at our booth photos from market,

you can see these quilts.

We took pre-orders

for these at Houston market last month,

and I’ve finally finished

-photography

-instruction writing &

-cover designs.

It’s a lot of work getting designs into pattern form.

I’m fortunate though that I can work around my family life.

I wear so many hats!

(Figuratively, not literally because hats & curls don’t mix!)

I’m really excited about the angel I designed for “A Joyful Christmas.”

A+Joyful+Christmas+#229+Cover+w+bleed+11-16-14+RGBThe pattern includes designs for

a 16-1/2″ x 48″ table runner

& a 29″ x 36″ wall quilt.

Both have 4″ Tiny Dresden Plates stacked to form a Christmas tree,

perle cotton embroidery &

an angel or two, who’s wings are also Dresden petals!

How can you resist?

I know, I’m so clever… just a piddler really.

Give me some fabric & my brain starts dreaming.

As I was drafting the illustrations for these patterns,

my brain was getting even more ideas for quilts.

I can’t help it!

Next is “Tiny Bits of Dresden Christmas Stocking”

 Suzn+Quilts+Tiny+Bits+of+Dresden+Stocking#231+RGB

These also use my 4″ Tiny Dresden Plates,

but you don’t sew a whole plate.

Rather, you make the petals then assemble partial plates

& put them in various places on a smallish 10″ Christmas stocking.

If it looks a bit familiar,

you might be remembering it’s bigger version,

“Bits of Dresden Christmas Stocking”

that uses my Mini Dresden Plate Template.

This stocking is a generous 21″ tall.

And finally…

“Dresden Heaven”

 Suzn+Quilts+Dresden+Heaven#230+RGBI’m not sure I’ve liked a quilt more…

but I have a habit of my favorite quilt being the one I just completed.

I showed you the progression of these Dresden plates here

with the help of my new sewing mate.

I dreamed up the design last summer while working on my

Tiny Dresden Series.

I wanted a quilt that showcased both my

new Tiny Dresden Plate Template &

my Mini Dresden Plate Template.

I ordered the lovely

“Heart’s Content” collection by Laundry Basket Quilts from Moda,

then I started sewing…

Tamara Struckoff did a wonderful job of machine quilting it full of feathers

& my photographer did a great job of capturing its good side.

 What can I say?

I absolutely love it and given another fabulous fabric collection,

I could see myself making another one of these!

Don’t dare count those TD’s.

Just buy the pattern & templates (if you don’t already own them)

& just start sewing!

I hope you’re in love too.

These & all of my patterns are on my website

if you can’t find them at your local quilt shop.

Until next time,

Susan

Back at it…

My helper & I were back at it this morning.

Me, sorting & sewing,

(notice the St. Louis Arch there in my thread catcher? Go Cardinals!!!)

and she politely keeping all the chain-pieced petals organized & wrinkle-free.

Next task is to cut the chains apart, press then sew two pairs together.

I love this fabric collection!

Must keep sewing…

Until next time,

Susan
