My #SewPINK Initiative Day

Welcome!

We all have many family members & friends that have experienced breast cancer. Due to cancer research, many of them thankfully are survivors! Best chances of survival are to catch it early. Please don’t be afraid of having screening done. It’s not fun, but it’s definitely not that bad. I’ve been having intrusive screening every year since my early 30’s because of family history. It hasn’t stopped me from going every year anyway! In my experience the staff are always very thoughtful & caring. If you’ve had a bad experience, go somewhere else! If you’re nervous, take a friend to wait with you if possible. Just get it done.

Would you like to make a sweet little quilt for a dear friend that may be going through treatments now or maybe is a breast or other cancer survivor?

Maybe you just want to make a cute little quilt?

I designed this “pink” quilt for those of us that don’t want the constant reminder of cancer, but instead, love.

Just a couple of Mini Dresden plates,

a few flowers and a few spools.

I enjoyed making this sweet little quilt &

Tamara did an awesome job quilting it!

I love the way the light catches all those beautiful feathers.

It’s available now on my website in both printed and PDF versions.

I also have a limited number of fabric kits available there too.

We believe breast cancer awareness is important all year,

and although we emphasize it in October

(Breast Cancer Awareness Month),

our continuous goal is to provide resources and awareness year-round.

Please visit these other blogs for more pink fun & also to donate.

Dresden Plate Quilt, fat 1/4 quilt, New lap quilt pattern, New Pattern Sample, Tiny Dresden quilts

Earlene, Just in Time for #nationalsewajellyrollday

Did you know that today is #nationalsewajellyrollday?

I have several patterns that are Jelly roll friendly,

but Earlene is brand new & the PDF is now on my website!

You can purchase & download Earlene on my website today

then choose your 3 jelly rolls,

fat 1/4 collection

or your fabrics from your stash

& start sewing tonight!

When I started making the Tiny Dresdens

I was just having fun using some of my most favorite fabrics from my stash.

You may notice some old Jo Morton,

some new Jo Morton.

Some old Brannock & Patek,

some newer Jan Patek.

Some old Barbara Brackman,

some newer Barbara Brackman.

All-time quilt favorites of mine!

Next thing I know, a design popped into my head

that would make the perfect jelly roll or fat 1/4 quilt.

A perfect way to make yourself a generous lap size quilt

with your favorite quilt fabric stars.

Who are your favorite quilting stars?

My Life, New Quilt Fabric Collection, Quilt Market

Spring Quilt Market 2019 In Kansas City

Chloe & I traveled to Kansas City last week to attend International Quilt Market.

It was great spending time with her & some of our market friends

including Susan Knapp of The Quilt Branch,

& her helper Karen Bailey.

Lucky for me, KC is a relatively short drive so we had a double booth

and I was able to pack some of my favorite goodies for display.

It was nice to talk to lots of old friends and to make lots of new ones too!

Lots of little Dresdens happening here!

We also showed my new quilt-as-you-go runner/placemat & lap quilt patterns.

Since I’m always busy each day in my own booth,

we have to go early to walk the rest of the show

or we have no idea what else it there.

We were able to see Moda’s new fabric collections that will be available later this year.

I chose postcards of my favorites…

Lella Boutique has a beautiful, soft collection with pretty greens & blues that I liked.

Minick & Simpson’s Northport group looks stunning as their groups always do.

I love the neutrals of Primitive Gatherings’ Urban Farmhouse Gatherings.

Betsy Chutchian’s Sarah’s Story has some of the same colors

as her Savanna’s Scraps so it would be easy to use the two groups together.

Sandy Klop’s Bubble Pop is adorable.

She put my black & cream polka dots in this collection!!!

I guess I’m not the only one who thinks her rainbow colors

are only made better with black & dots…

You’ll definitely be seeing me use those!

I fell in love with some fabrics at the Diamond Textiles booth too.

Their prints & yard dyed fabrics look beautiful together!

I love their yard dyed fabrics with prints woven into them.

So much texture & color range!

Wish I could take the booths home with me.

That would certainly make some decisions easier!

They’re all so inspiring!

All too soon we’re back home & back to work.

Where does the time go???

Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend.

I hope it includes some quilting time!

Just Keep Sewing…
